Flex

Monday, November 21, 2005

I've been practicing yoga daily. I look for the smallest advances in flexibility. Some days I see measurable progress, but most days I don't notice a difference. I vaguely remember being able to do the "split" when I was three. I've stiffened up a bit since then.

This guy must be made of rubber:

Headed for San Diego after Thanksgiving. Yippee!

Note to My Reader

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

Hi. I'm just going to be blunt about this. I'm having PP, as my ex-husband's cousin used to say. (Hi, Angelo)

PP = personal problems
-------
Unrelated to the above-mentioned PP, is a batch of bad karma. Yes, again.

We've been battling car problems. But yesterday, joy of joys, we brought the car back from the mechanics, minus $112.78. When we walked in the door, it was immediately obvious that a 4-member steel band was jamming in our living room. Well...it sounded like it anyway.

Our pellet stove's motor was having a bad hair day, POS that it is.

So today we located a replacement motor (still under warranty....hurray!). We left work early to get the motor, but the car broke down....again. So we got towed. Back to the mechanic.

Our "loaner" vehicle is a gas guzzling monster. 10 miles per gallon. and we drive 80 miles per day to work round trip. do the math.

Other than that, life is good; and I've got some glazed carrots in the oven.

Darth and Abs

Saturday, November 05, 2005

I embarassed myself in the office loo today. I was in the stall, and ready to exit to the sink area, when I decided to do a bit of yogic breathing (an energy exercise). I can't remember what this particular breathing exercise is called, but on the exhale, the tongue is pulled back and the breathe makes a low throaty Darth-like sound. I did a couple of these while contracting my abdonimal muscles.

I thought I was alone.

When I finally came out of the stall, there was the cleaning lady. She didn't say a word. But she did give me a very strange look!! haha
-------------
In other news....the sub-title above suggests you stick around to see if we "sink or swim".
We are treading water....barely. The house is still for sale. Our plans are morphing. That's about all I'm ready to say at the moment. Life is strange.

What doesn't change, however, is my commitment to Earth and the environment. I have joined a new forum: http://www.theenvironmentsite.org/Forum/
It appears well organized with plenty of helpful information. Want to join me there?
