Sorting Limpets

Monday, October 30, 2006

Want to come on over to my place and help me sort limpets?

Shells

I haven't looked at this whole collection since the kids were pre-teen. The shells are jewels; and I love the endless variety and beauty (just like people).

"There is nothing that makes its way more directly to the soul than beauty."
Joseph Addison
(1672-1719 British essayist, poet, and dramatist)

I'm going to make the larger striped limpets into surreal "palm" trees with bamboo trunks and marble "coconuts". They will be part of a small sculpture which includes an alien with a small half-marble stuck in his belly. As for the rest of the vision, you will have to wait and see the picture.

remember....you asked!

To Richard's friend:
I used to live right off Lake Shore Dr. too!...but I forget the street name. I hope Richard sees these messages, but I can't contact him because he left an anonymous comment. Darn.
