Out on the Limb

Favorite Places

I'm digging thru my desktop pilings. (I know there is a desk under here somewhere!) I've come across a couple of snippet reminders to let you know of places I've enjoyed visiting recently.

While in San Diego, I visited the Cottage Gallery. Unfortunately, the Gallery was about to close its doors forever after 31 years. The lady I spoke with said that sky-rocketing taxes were largely to blame for the closure. But, happily, the online site is still available. Support your local (or not-so-local) artist!

I love looking for healthy, creative food joints when I'm traveling. Kelly's Cafe in Gig Harbor is super for high quality, good-tasking food (limited menu). Kelly's does not have a web site, but I see that Jim has a lovely selection of Flickr pictures of Gig Harbor.

Yesterday, I found another breakfast spot in Portland, Oregon, that I will surely visit again. Old Wives Tales is located near the Convention Center. The menu was huge, the portions generous, and...well....you can see for yourself.
