Out on the Limb

In Memory of Butcher

Wednesday, October 06, 2004

Butcher died today. She was 14 - 1/2 years old. She was a fine cat and a good mouser right up to the end. She died from the complications of cancer.

Butcher was named after Susan Butcher, the musher. Born in a closet, she was the first of the litter to set off exploring. Many other cats came and went, but Butcher used every one of her nine lives...twice. For years we lovingly called her "fat cat". Her size never slowed her down. We would proudly show her off to visitors; and she never failed to bite when petted. They were love bites.

She leaves behind the humans who cared for her, and her closest friend Whisper who tried valiently to prevent Butcher's burial. I am a better person for having known such a fine cat.

Aww what a cute kitty. So sad *sniffle*

Here's my response to your comment on my blog (it's on my blog, too):

That reminds me, Deb - how do you rate the point value of bucks? I used to think it was the points on their antlers, but I'm not sure. In any case, yea, the worst of the three effects was certainly the SMELL. Shite!

How did you find my blog, though, if you don't mind me asking? I don't know how to connect with people other than through the profile, and we didn't have any coinciding interests lol.

Peace!

Jon

Regarding like interests. I like 3rd Eye Blind enough to buy their CD's; and I think "Catch 22" should be required (fun) reading.

I've read a lot of answers to those randomly generated questions, and yours is certainly among the funniest.

3EB? Yea, if anyone ever mentions them, I always have to say that their first album is one of the best, at least modern albums. Uhhm, so it is one of the best, I say. One of those where every song sounds different, interesting, and suh-weet, as they say.

Thanks for linking up What the Hell. I'd do yours, too, but I haven't figured out how yet .\/.
